Civil Designer

Robert and Company is seeking an experienced Civil Designer to support the planning, design, and development of military fuel infrastructure, utility, and civil site development projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on federal, Department of Defense (DoD), industrial, and public works projects from concept development through construction.

The Civil Designer will work closely with engineers and project managers to prepare high-quality design documents and construction plans for site development, utility systems, and fuel facility projects throughout the United States and abroad.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop civil site design and utility plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including:
    • Site layout and geometry
    • Utility plan and profile design
    • Grading and drainage plans
    • Stormwater management plans
    • Erosion and sediment control plans
    • Construction details and technical drawings
  • Prepare complete construction document packages in accordance with client requirements, project specifications, and applicable design standards.
  • Support the design of military fuel facilities, fueling systems, utility infrastructure, and related site development projects.
  • Review and analyze surveys, field data, maps, aerial imagery, utility information, and other project documents to identify constraints and support design development.
  • Independently complete redlines, drawing revisions, and design updates under the supervision of licensed Professional Engineers.
  • Research and interpret deeds, easements, technical reports, municipal ordinances, and federal, state, and local regulations to ensure project compliance.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary design teams to communicate project status, resolve technical issues, and implement design changes.
  • Assist with quantity calculations, construction cost estimates, and engineering reports as required.
  • Support project delivery efforts to help ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Perform occasional field visits and site assessments as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Required Qualifications:

    • Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related technical discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant civil design experience.
    • 3-8 years of experience in civil engineering design, site development, utility design, land development, or infrastructure projects.
    • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
    • Experience preparing grading, drainage, utility, and site development plans.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical standards.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain required government security clearances and pass applicable background checks.
    • Ability to travel occasionally to project sites, military installations, and client locations.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
    • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in any U.S. state or territory.
    • Experience supporting federal, military, aviation, utility, fuel systems, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
    • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC), Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), Defense Logistics Agency Energy (DLA Energy), or other federal agency design standards.
    • Experience with fuel storage facilities, hydrant fueling systems, pipelines, tank farms, petroleum distribution systems, bulk fuel storage facilities, or related fuel infrastructure.
    • Experience using Hydraflow, SWMM, Revit, and Bluebeam.

    Electrical Engineer, PE

    Robert and Company has an opening for an Electrical Engineer, PE. This includes the opportunity for near term advancement in addition to great exposure from our talented and experienced engineering staff in our Atlanta, GA office.

    Job Responsibilities

    • The production of construction documents from initial design through construction administration under the supervision of the Electrical Department Manager.
    • Responsible for Electrical Design documentation.
    • Responsible for oversight of production team on specific projects
    • Lead multi-disciplinary team for electrically focused projects
    • Perform collaboration and coordination with other disciplines on all projects
    • Perform projects within established project budgets and schedules

    Required Skills:

    • 5+ years of experience.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Must be detail-oriented and quality driven
    • Able to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and a functional level
    • Strong AutoCAD experience
    • Knowledge of NEC and IBC
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
    • BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
    • Hold a PE Registration

    • Cost estimating experience

    Professional Engineer - Project Manager

    Due to growth in our Integrity Management Group, Robert and Company is seeking a Professional Engineer - Project Manager with 5 to 10 years' experience managing multi-discipline design/bid/ build and design/build projects.

    Experience managing federal government projects with an emphasis on AFCEC, NAVFAC and Corps of Engineers is preferred. Must be willing to travel.

    Candidate must have professional registration as a PE. Ideal candidate will have knowledge of API tank and pipeline inspection methods and experience managing a team that includes multiple subconsultants.

    Candidate must be authorized to work in the US and must be able to pass Government background check.
